Using A Sample Job Application

When looking for a job you usually try to check out a sample job application to see how it goes. When you make the application yourself, you are required to provide more information than just: hey, I am very broke, and I am desperately looking for a job; can you give me that job?

Okay, that is a bit extreme, but that’s how many of us sound. You need to prove your worth and show that you are able to do the job at hand. You also need to dhow that you are a person who actually adds value wherever you go. Now that is a key thing that you need to put into consideration. It is true that your main reason for looking for your job is to satisfy your own needs: either for money or prestige or something else. On the other hand, your potential employer is looking out for someone who is able to add value to the organization

So, from any sample job application, you will realize that there are two things that will help you portray yourself as the best person for that particular job:

Cover letterMany people sometimes do not see the need of writing a cover a letter and attaching it to the resume. They feel that it is a waste of time and they therefore end up sending a resume alone. Those who write a cover letter, many of them just write like, here is my resume, go through it and then get back to me. I’m anxiously waiting for that job. .

However, this should not be the case. To get a good response, you must show that you took your time to write a compelling caver letter, just as you would write a sales letter.

Therefore, your cover letter should be characterized by the following:

It should be direct to the point and not meander. This is important to keep the reader engaged. It should not have any spelling or grammatical error. These are a no-no. This is because such things portray you as lazy and careless.

Resume

When sending out your job application, it is also important that you send out your resume. Many people do not have a problem with this. Your resume should be one that seems to be unique and must have the following characteristics:

It should be interesting to read. To achieve this, list your achievements and the things that you can do for your organization. Always use the active voice and make use of powerful words. These keep the reader engagedUse quantitative qualities to spice up your resume. You can look out for a sample job application to see how this is done. They make your claims more serious. Make your resume unique. If you are using a sample job application resume that you have picked from the internet, ensure that you tweak it to make the resume stand out. Vary the layout of the resume since some people could have used the same template for the same reasons before.
