Resignation Letter Examples

Resignation letter examples: Leaving a job for higher pay with another employer

One of the most popular reasons people resign from their positions at a company is to take a job with higher pay someplace else. A good employee cannot be faulted for leaving a job to better his or her financial situation. If a deserving employee has asked for a raise, and doesn't get a satisfactory answer, it is likely that the employee will seek other means of making more money. One of these means may be to get an entirely different job at another company. If an employee is valuable enough to his or her current employer, the employer may make a counter offer.

However, including that you left for more pay in a resignation letter may not be a good idea. Remember that your letter goes on file in the Human Resources department, and can be brought out when future employers ask for references. Therefore, it is best to discuss money with your current boss, and leave your resignation letter simple and polite.

The following letters are resignation letter examples for employees who wish to leave their job to earn more at another company.
