Job Acceptance Letter

It is recommended that you write a formal job acceptance letter after you've decided to accept an offer. In this letter, you can restate offer terms to clear up any misunderstanding, express your appreciation about the position and offer to provide additional information if needed. Below is sample job acceptance letter.

September 8, 2004

David A. Anderson
Director of Human Resources
Bright Company
565 Water Street
Iowa City, IA 52246

Dear Mr. Anderson:

I would like to express my appreciation for your letter offering the position of Sales Manager at a starting salary of $62,000 annually. The position requires exactly the kind of work I want to do, and I know that I will do a good job.

As we discussed, my starting date will be October 1. I further understand that the health insurance is to be paid fully by the organization and a retirement plan is available. I also have an option to purchase 10,000 shares of company common stock at an exercise price of $9.00/share.

Yesterday I submitted my resignation at Memory Inc. and worked out a mutually acceptable notice of three weeks. This will allow me enough time to finalize my current business project here and be ready to join Bright Company on schedule. I'll take the pre-employment physical this Saturday, and I don not expect any problems to rise.

I'm eagerly anticipating starting my new position and look forward to working with you soon. Thank you again for this opportunity.

Sincerely,

Job Seeker
